Ingredients
- 3 medium ripe avocados
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1/2 jalapeño pepper, minced (more or less, to taste)
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro leaves and upper stems (optional)
- Pinch or two of coarse salt
- Juice of one lime
Steps
- Cut avocados in half and remove the pits (do not throw out yet!). A ripe avocado should be easy to cut through. It is not worth it to make guacamole with unripe avocados!
- Spoon the flesh of the avocado into a mixing bowl.
- Add the chopped onion, peppers, cilantro (if using), and salt.
- Add lime juice.
- Mush it all together.
- Serves 4-6. If you want to store some- refrigerate in a container with the pits (obviously remove before eating)
