Wall Handstand Leans

Points of Performance
- From a heels to wall handstand, shift weight side to side.
- Feet should remain in the same place, hips control the weight shift.

Wall Handstand Raises

Points of Performance
- Shift the weight with the hips and lift the hand as high as possible.

Wall Handstand Shoulder Taps

Points of Performance
- Contact the same shoulder at the top.

 

Progression - Bailing

Progression 5 - Bailing (Forward Spin)

Points of Performance
- Kick up first, fall forward and remove one hand from the ground. 
- Removing one hand will make you spin.
- We recommend performing with a crash mat to start.

 
 

Progression - Partial Walking

Handstand Walk to Wall

Points of Performance
- Use a distance from the wall where your feet would still hit the wall if you fell over.

 
 

Progression - Handstand Walk

Handstand Walking

Points of Performance
- Body straight, legs tight together, and abs tight. 
- Lean forward slightly to initiate walk.

Backwards HS Walk

Points of Performance
- Same body position as the handstand, lean backwards slightly to initiate walk.

Sideways HS Walk

Points of Performance
- Same body position as the handstand.
- Lean sideways slightly to initiate walk.

 

Handstand Pirouette

Points of Performance
- Remove one hand from the ground to initiate the spin.

HS Walk Over Plates

Points of Performance
- To clear the plates lean forward more than you would to walk normally.

HS Walk Improvisation

Points of Performance
- Once you have comfort with the handstand walk, have fun with it!
